drink this

just an idea for local vitamin C that we have been drinking all summer thats really great. nice with seltzer too.

a lot of Rhubarb

as much or as little honey as you want

bunch of mint

in a large pot fill 1/3 up with water and fill all the way up with 2-3 inch pieces of rhubarb. let it cook down till its mushy and gross looking. let it cook till its broken down to strands of rhubarb stirring occasionally. i stir it hard to help break down the barb.

strain so all you have left is pink syrup looking stuff

this is the base of the tonic. its really concentrated and not fun to have in your mouth but wait it gets better.

if you want to drink some right away use a ton of ice to dilute the concentrate and chill it quickly. or dilute  with water pop it the icebox.

add chopped mint and as much or as little honey you want. me personally, i think rhubarb tastes like a sneaker so i use a lot of honey.

its a really nice drink, a lot cheeper then oj and better for you

Fall Season

sending the munchkins back to school doesnt mean that farm fresh produce is over. In fact September is my favorite month. the cooler nights should be friendlier to some of our lettuce friends and tomatoes will be booming for a few more weeks. we are still delivering variety boxes every week to Williamsburg so dont miss out on the fall bounty.

100 acres

We are pleased to announce the beginning of what hopes to be a fun and delicious collaboration with Hundred Acres rest/bar in Soho.  If  the southern/american/soul/comfort food thing calls to you then check this place out.

i wish they would but they dont. Since i last left off we have been quite busy and crazy with end of summer bounty. Our good friends Clark and Andrea Sanders tied the knot and Prospectors was honored to prepare the dinner on such a great night. our construction bin turned smoker worked like a charm and the makeshift kitchen held up. Special thanks to the great staff that helped things go smoothly.

pictures coming soon. (as soon as i find that damn cord)

Junk food-addicted rats chose to starve themselves rather than eat healthy food.

finished the sheep house, cooked a leg of RAM on open fire, found a wounded hawk and ate said leg of ram with some deserving guests. Including harry.
